I´m told Redentore is the italian word for "Redeemer." Another translation must also be "perfection," as this guitar is flawless. I am the lucky owner of the first Redentore archtop. My Gondolier model has a standard 17 inch body with a single floating pickup, and ebony finger-rest and tailpiece. The neck has a fairly flat profile, and is extremely comfortable. I play both fingerstyle solo guitar, and also use a pick for single note soloing in a trio setting, and this guitar does both very well. The acoustic tone is beautiful, but it sounds equally good through an amplifier. It has a more acoustic feel/sound than the high end Gibson archtops, but is a little more "electric" than my Campellone Deluxe. The workmanship is impeccable, and it is perfectly balanced, and much lighter than other archtops I have owned. The gold frets are a nice contrast to its elegantly understated look.
I have had the privilege of owning and/or playing many premium archtops over the years, and this is the finest guitar I have ever seen, at any price. It looks right, feels right, and sounds right. Mark Piper has hit a grand slam with his first swing of the bat.
